Hyrule Bonus Assignment
A challenging lesson deserves a challenging assignment! Since we don’t have a class project for this class, I thought this assignment could act as one! So don’t expect an extremely easy assignment, but don’t be scared! It will only require the use of your creative minds! The instructions are the following:
Don’t you think that Legend of Zelda is quite obsessed with number 3? Please choose one of the following topics:
After you have decided your topic, have fun and choose one of the following activities:
Don’t you think that Legend of Zelda is quite obsessed with number 3? Please choose one of the following topics:
- The Three Golden Goddesses
- The Three Spiritual Stones
- Triforce recipients: Ganondorf, Link, and Zelda
- Other races: the Zuna, the Minish, and the Oocca
- The Sages (choose 3)
- Dungeon and/or Temple Bosses (choose 3)
- Ocarina Songs (choose 3)
After you have decided your topic, have fun and choose one of the following activities:
Option 1: Research
Do a research on the topic you picked and write a small report with your findings. Who or what are they? What are they used for? Where can you find them? What is their relevance to the plot of the game?, etc. These are just some ideas! Of course you can write about everything you find!
Please write at least 100 words for each element, character, or creature to make a total of 300 words. Cite all your sources.

Option 2: Creative Writing
In at least 300 words, write a short story involving the elements of the topic you chose. For example:
These are just some ideas, so don’t limit yourself! If you can think of another story or narration, please go ahead and write about it!
- What would happen when the three races meet each other for the first time?
- Narrate a final battle between Ganondorf, Link, and Zelda.
- Your quest to find the 3 Spiritual Stones.
- The Dungeon Bosses planning revenge against Link
- The Sages discussing Hyrule’s future.
These are just some ideas, so don’t limit yourself! If you can think of another story or narration, please go ahead and write about it!
Option 3: Art Project
If you hate everything about writing short stories or essays, or investigating, you can choose one of these options:
- Do a drawing, a graphic, a sculpture, a photograph, or any other mean of art that you can think of, and illustrate the three elements of your topic. Be creative! Please do not send your work as an attachment, submit it to an image hosting site like Photobucket, and then send me the link to your picture.
- I’m sure you are all familiar with the delicious Chocolate Frog Cards! Now it is your time to create yours! With a graphic (encouraged) or a drawing, illustrate your elements of your topic as if they were part of a Famous Cards Collection. One for each element, so you have to turn in three different cards. The sky is the limit! Please do not send your work as an attachment, submit it to an image hosting site like Photobucket, and then send me the link to your picture.
